Commiserations to you guys today and well done for making it a great spectacle for the neutral. I was delighted for Batley being the underdogs but Widnes deserve credit when considering the season of injuries that they have had, perhaps similar to our own at Halifax. Not everyone has a downer on Widnes Mr Dalton, it just wasnt your day today, but im sure you will have much to smile about come the franchises.

i can't believe the ammount of ball we coughed up in the second half, and then there was the 5min ping pong ball period in which both teams coughed one ofter the other. congrats to batley, they never stopped all game and contributed to great match. i can't fault our guys effort all afternoon but somethings just didn't go for us, and as soon as we lost coyle i felt it was all back on thacks shoulders.

on to the clown, i thought he made at least 2 disasterous (well against us anyway). first was the knock-on/incorrect ptb that led to their second try, how in the hell did he come to the conclusion that it was interferance? it was clear as day there was no such thing - let alone the replays to confirm it. and the second howler was the pen awarded just before h/t. at worst he lost the ball in the tacke and at best he attempted an offload (being very generous there). those 2 decisions cost us 8 points and may have put the match in a different direction - who knows. i mean i'm not taking anything away from batley, but this boy is just not up to scratch for this level - let alone sl.

first of well done Batley, they deserved it in the end and they're a great club.

ball retention from us was shocking and in the end batley made us pay, credit to our fans who sang all the way through.

Like I've said elsewhere, if we had to lose to anyone, I'm glad it was Batley. But there does seem to be an awful lot of sad fans who are more delighted we've lost than Batley won.

we get stick from pretty much all other championship clubs, they all want us to get beat and fail.

im as flat as a pancake at the mo, couldnt really give a stuff about leigh next week tbh.

They've had the gall to moan about the referee on the fax site. How one eyed can you get? Complaining about a high shot from a widnes player. What about Coyle getting his head took off and nothing being done about it? I'm not blaming the ref, we lost that game, but how can anyone suggest we got the rub of the green? There were several bad decisions which went against us. I thought the referee was absolutely terrible.

I think Gardner lost us the match by not keeping the ball wrapped up . We didn't play conservative rugby when it counted. I'm so annoyed.

But well done Batley, you've earned it and hope you have a good one celebrating this.

I didn't see that. To be honest i was only looking for the Widnes trangressions. I spat my chips out at every Widnes high shot and forward pass. I felt very deflated when Widnes came back to take the lead but was overjoyed at the final outcome. I'm looking forward to the 29th July

First of all...congratulations to Batley and their fans.

Secondly... I wouldn't expect anything else from some other sets of fans...
They are getting ready to lose us to the higher echelons and are revelling while they can. Also it's a nice distraction
from their own woes.

As for the referee... he is a complete prat... how he gave interference in the build up to Batley's second try I will never know when the player threw the ball between his legs. Then missing another player trying to take Coyle's head off.
The guy is a shambles...

I think it's a bit unfair solely blaming Gardner Dalto. In the madcap last 20 minutes any one of a number of players dropped the ball.
As for today. Thank God for the Win last year. Can you imagine the feeling if we had lost today having lost that one as well.

Had you lost last year you'd have had a completely different squad this year. You'd have had a Championship winning squad.
