Bring Varks back to Lobbyland

Hulme and Heckenberg.

Heckenberg has looked unfit and fairly uninterested whenever i've seen him. Got smashed playing against Leigh reserves last year. Hopkins will be far better and isn't an Aussie.

Get Hulmey and Varks, two massive players and have done us proud this year.

Look at what Millward has done for Mills & Bibey.



At a push Varks, problem since school was not having a natural position.

Varks fits our profile, local and inexpensive. Would do well under Basil.
I feel Hulme is a stop gap whilst he finishes his apprenticeship, may be worth a punt on a 1 year with options as Basil would again bring the best from him.
Hopkins will move up to the 17 (as will Nicholson) to fill the huge gap left by Hill, so Heckenburg is a big no-no.
Not sure on Grady as I feel there is something there.
Think we will see a young Wire halfback for a season next year.

I'm gutted, whoever gets Hulme has a real talented prospect on their hands.

Hulme and Varkulis for me too. I also think that if Sculthorpe could get back to the level he had in SDL then his compulsive offload coupled with our pace around the ruck could be a very dangerous combination. I also think that Ropati could do a job for us depending on the dual reg's next year.

Ropati's defence has been shocking this year, especially early on in the season. Millward could probably sort that out (look at the improvement in Nanyn's defence since last year!) but if he didn't stand out in an average widnes team I don't think he would do much at Leigh either. Hulme and Varks are still the only two i'd take.
