| Yeah it must have been that, the only thing that makes me doubt it, is that im sure me and my mate wagged school and got the coach from Leigh, which would mean the cup final was possibly a Wednesday night, remember Tim Street doing Klinsmanns in the "swimming pool" after the game! Stu Donlan was in his first stint aswell IIRC

It was indeed on a Wednesday night - I couldn't go to the game as I had a rugby game after school.

| Me thinks it was the major/minor semi final 1999 when we went on to lose to Dewsbury in the final. The stewards wouldn't allow us to move to the other side of the stand at halftime, a fence collapsed and a few Leigh fans fell onto the pitch i'm sure it was then!

| Definately the Transvestite Cup final, it was midweek, and it poured down with rain. I may be seeing it through tinted glasses but I've a memory of thier fans trying to run us and then bottling it after being met in the middle. Which was when the Police got involved? Anyone else remember it like that?
Didn't either Donlan or Turley get sent off very early in the game, or was that the one after?

| It was at the 2000 Trans Pennine Final on a Wednesday night that Pey Lovell indeed got bit by a Police Dog. I think we lost 10-6 and IIRC Stuart Donlon scored our only try. When I arrived I did not believe the game would actually go ahead as the pitch resembled Howe Bridge swimming pool.
We returned to Dewsbury for the play off match and it was Sid who was sent off very early,IIRC by Russell Smith. However we still went on to win. A shame we could not repeat it in the GF.
That GF match at Gigg Lane was there to be won at Half Time. We all rave about Turk but that 10 minite interval spent with players quietly filling in clip boards in the dressing room cost us big time.
I'm no RL coach by any stretch but even I am aware your not going to get the best out of the likes of Streety & Whittle filling in clip board questionaires. Definitely not just 40 mins from SL !!
