I know that i`ve mentioned it before, but beaten coaches being interviewed always seem to play there worst performances against us. They either played like under 10s /12s or they took no notice of the game plan , its never down to getting outplayed by the Trin.
If the coaches want to know why they are not turning up against us , its because DPs coaching tactics are displacing the oppositions out of there field positions. When we get a full pack and bench on the park and with a bit of luck in the run in to the top 6 , I don`t think they should fear any team.
Fridays squad was as close to a full strength team since the early part of this season. UTT
Or they could accuse the opposition coach of influencing the ref and making up incorrect penalty counts...........
Though it’s been done to death Cartright didn’t deny that he had said a few things about the penalty count which the ref could have overheard. In fact in his own interview he denied directly talking with ref (which Powell never accused him of) but he said something like ‘that’s a different matter’ when asked if ref could have been in earshot.
I think the issue was less to do with Cartright than it was with Vella. Consciously or subconsciously but there was penalties he could have blown in that second half.
That’s for Powell and the RFL to sort but I’m surprised officials are even allowed to go down the tunnel with players and coaches in the first place. In hindsight I suspect he wouldn’t bother saying anything next time but he was clearly emotional that the team had lost that and basically gifted Hull the game uncharacteristically.
Anyway it’s history and old chip shop paper.
