It was second against third as two of the sides with a one hundred percent Kingstone Press Championship One record met at a sunny Keepmoat Stadium. With Barrow winning last night a win was required by both sides to draw back level top.

Doncaster have made great start to the 2017 season and with a team containing a number of players with Super League experience they have their eyes on a Championship spot next season. The Wolfpack welcomed back Moimoi after a three game suspension, but were without new signing Ryan Bailey who was signed too late to make his debut.

Both sides had early mistakes from old heads with Moimoi knocking on and Thackeray giving away possession. On three minutes Bob Beswick went from the acting half back to throw a dummy to cross from five metres. Craig Hall added the conversion.

Within two minutes Fuifui Moimoi powered his way to the line after pushing Jamie Thackeray out of the way. Hall was accurate with the boot and within six minutes the Wolfpack were 12-0 ahead.

On twelve Jamie Thackeray knocked on over the Toronto line and within two minutes Jack Bussey handed off Mason Tonks to crash over the line. Hall kicked the two and it was already 18-0.

Good pressure from the Wolfpack led to try number four when Liam Kay took a clever Quentin Laulu-Togaga'e pass to cross in the left corner. Hall hit the left upright with the conversion attempt and the ball bounced back into the field.

With thirty minutes on the clock Laulu-Togaga'e scored a solo try from fifty metres despite being angle tapped close to the line. The Wolfpack fullback summersaulted and grounded the ball. Hall added the extras.

Within two minutes Blake Wallace broke the line and went fifty metres to score between the uprights. Again it was a simple conversion for Hall for 34-0 and all pre-match Doncaster hope was extinguished.

A minute from the break Doncaster finally broke their duck after a pinpoint and kick by Jordan Howden was caught and grounded by Sam Doherty, under pressure from Kay. Tom Carr added the conversion for 6-34 at the interval.

Moimoi got his second of the afternoon on forty-seven in trademark style when he crashed under the sticks with tacklers attached. Hall slotted over the extras to bring up the forty. Just two minutes had elapsed before Greg Worthington span out of an attempted tackle to go over from ten metres. The Hall conversion opened up a forty point margin.

On fifty-two Kay for his second of the afternoon as he took a pass five out and scored acrobatically by the left corner flag. Hall converted brilliantly from the touchline.

As the hour clocked by Richard Whiting jinked his way to the line from twenty for the tenth Toronto try and when Hall added a simple conversion. Within two minutes a Jack Bussey break off a Jacob Emmitt pass found Rhys Jacks in support to complete the try. Hall added the extras for 64-6.

On sixty-five another Bussey break found Wallace in support to score through a Doncaster defence that was looking as though they had started to loose interest. Hall kicked the conversion from in front of the sticks.

On seventy-three Sidlow went through a gap and offloaded to Jack Bussey to canter thirty metres and dive over under the sticks. Hall kicked his twelfth conversion of the afternoon as his side eyed the eighty.

Just to add to Doncaster's woes, Jamie Thackeray was sent off on seventy-four for kicking out in the tackle. Four minutes later and Bussey found a gap in the Doncaster line and get his hat-trick to bring up the eighty. Hall added the conversion as the final hooter sounded for 82-6.

This was a Wolfpack masterclass against a Doncaster side from whom much more was expected. Toronto got on a roll very early in the game, stunned the home side, and then didn't let them get back into it.
